My Not-So Top-Secret Projects of 2021

New Fine-Art, Calendar, YouTube and More

Hey there readers and welcome to my thoughts about my not-so TOP-SECRET projects of 2021. So far the year has rolled through the first 3 months pretty quickly. The days are getting longer and warmer which means more time to love outside.

Hopefully many of you know that I recently launched a Youtube series documenting my journey as a fine-art photographer. If you haven't watched the short, 6 minute first episode titled "Chasing Wild Horses in Washoe Valley" then please tap-open the Youtube app and check it out (click here to watch). Maybe even give a thumbs-up and subscribe because more content from product demos to in-the-field adventures are already in the works.

I also published my first limited edition, fine-art photo book, which will be available (fingers crossed) by end of the month. I'm pretty excited about this accomplishment.

The quality of the final book is going to be absolutely stunning featuring an acrylic cover, extra thick lay-flat glossy pages and an optional leather box for safe keeping.

I'm going to be honest it won't be cheap but will impress beyond it's price point making it an excellent fine-art collectible. Plus, I am only going to print 12 copies, signed and numbered, making it extremely limited. It will be offered to my collectors first and then the public.

Also, if you missed it back in January it's still not too late to pick up your limited edition tinyVIEWS Trim & Frame calendar because this year I am printing the calendar a little differently. It's still Trim & Frame, it's still 5x7, it's easily pinned up on a cubicle wall (if you're in the office) or by magnet. When the month is over you can still trim off the calendar and frame the 5x5 print to enjoy the photo from a distant shelf or right on your desk.

The not-so TOP-SECRET difference this year is that instead of being a traditional January to December annual calendar, it's now a rolling 12 month calendar.

So let's say you visit the jmGalleries store today, or see me at an event (fingers crossed we have a few this year) and purchase it. Your calendar will be custom printed for 12 months, or since it's currently March 2021 through March 2022. So it's never too late to buy a calendar and enjoy fine-art for an entire year. Currently available and ships in about a week.

However, one of the biggest not-so TOP-SECRET projects of 2021 is the launch of new brand of graphic-tees, hats, hoodies, stickers, lens cloths and other related product that photographers and outside lovers will enjoy. I am calling this exciting new brand LOVE OUTSIDE (.org).

As a photographer, hiker, mountain biker and general lover of the outdoors the brand's mission is to support non-profit organizations like Rails To Trails, One Tree Planted and Keep Tahoe Blue to name a few.

So make sure you either sign up for my monthly newsletter or follow me on social to know when this new creative swag is about to drop.

I think we are all hoping by summer that life will be back to how we remember it circa 2018. We will be hanging out coffee shops sipping a latte surrounded by art on the walls and attending outdoor art fairs and events again. With hope in the air, I also have a stretch not-so TOP-SECRET project which is to get my artwork back on the walls of local businesses and galleries so that it can once again be enjoyed by the public.

Finally, my last not-so TOP-SECRET project is reviving the monthly new-release newsletter. Started back in 2019 every month I would send out a quick-read email featuring a new fine-art photograph and an amazing offer for you to add it to your j.McCarthy collection. But, during the pandemic I lost some steam and ended up shelving the newsletter for 2020. Now it's back baby and if you haven't signed up yet please do it now at https://jmgalleries.com/signup. This years edition is a little more bold and like always it's only sent once a month to bring a little art to your inbox.

What are some of your not-so TOP-SECRET projects for this year? Share in the comments.

If you enjoyed this please give it a cheers, thumbs-up or like below.
